9th April 2008

Sandy started the evening with a Spanish song , in honour of some Spanish visitors.

Bob Leslie then sang his songs ‘Smell the roses’ and ‘Cordelia Jane’


Peter was next with ‘We must share’ and then ‘I know that face well’


Tommy then took the stage and did ‘Ghost riders in the sky’ followed by ‘Hazard Hollow’


Mike Play, a new face at the Open mics then performed two of his own songs ‘Elementary’ and then ‘Stay up’ both excellent songs and really well performed.


Gavin Watt was next with ‘Lonesome Me’ and then ‘For what it’s worth’.


Stevie then took to the stage with ‘Wild Horses’ followed by ‘Hey Jude’


Elspeth Durkin was next up , with Bob Leslie on guitar, singing ‘Autumn Leaves’

and then a duet with Bob - of the Little Feat song ‘Dixie Chicken’. Scott then got up and played some slide guitar on his own Dobro [no photo unfortunately] and he was followed by Rob with ‘The Ballad of John and Yoko’ and then ‘Honkytonk Blues’


Joe MacAtamany was next on stage with ‘Haul Away’ and then Ride On’


and he was followed by Jer McDade with one of his compositions ‘Something Good’.


Neil was next - a left-handed guitar player - and he did an excellent version of Johnny Cash’s song ‘I hurt myself today’.


Duncan Adams then got up to sing ‘Where am I goin’ to live?’ and ‘I don’t care if you love me anymore’.


Willie Mathews was last and finished with ‘If I had a Hammer'.



There was a very short Jam session to follow before the staff started moving everybody slowly out of the pub!!
