16th May 2007 Clutha Vaults

Sandy started the evening with a few songs including the Hank Williams classic "Lonesome Blues" and "If I needed You".




Frank was first up to perform with "Strange People"



Bob Leslie was next off the starting blocks with his brilliant song"Adios to Rock and Roll"


Then Annie gave us her version of "Ramona".


Elspeth was up next with "Autumn Leaves", accompanied by Bob.

Bob Stayed up to play for Stevie doing "Headlights at my window",


then Sandy gave us his accoustic version of "Copperhead Road" by Steve Earle.


Gavin was up next with "No Expectations"


followed by Frank again with "Keep on rockin"

Bob then gave us his song/ballad " Frankenstein" followed by Sandy again with the "Tay Boat song"

Stevie was up next


and he was followed by Joe MacAtamy singing "Haul Away" and then "Gallipoli".


Gavin then gave us two numbers - "Here comes the man" and "Have you ever seen the rain"

Jimmy and Stevie McCaffrey then gave us a couple of songs including "The drugs don't work"



Jimmy stayed up and was joined by Bob Leslie and Elspeth Durkin and they performed a version of the Little Feat song"Dixie Chicken"



Jer McDade was up next with his popular "Bob Treetop followed by "The unsinkable Boat"



Sandy then got Katie up to sing the Rod Stewart Classic "Listen to my heart".



Next up was a trio who go by the name of KRUSTI and they gave us a Grateful Dead song "Don't you let that day go down" followed by "Brown-eyed Girl".



Stevie was back up then with "Don't take anymore of my life away"



and the session was finished by Gerry McHugh [I've been spelling his name wrong for weeks - as Jerry McCue - so I must apologise] who gave us "Summertie Blues" followed by the traditional scottish song "The Road to Dundee" which had a lot of the audience singing along as well.




There then followed a general Jam session with some Spanish content, for our UEFA cup final visitors who had arrived in the place after the extended play at Hampden Park Stadium.

9th May Clutha Vaults Open Mic Sessions

Sandy was back this week, and opened as usual followed by 'Andy the candy' Logan.
Stuart Workman was next with his version of 'Cocaine'.

Jerry McCue followed him with a finger-picking version of "I'm goin fishin'."

Then Joe Kidd got up and gave us "Nothin' wrong".

Gavin Watt then gave us a Ry Cooder song "The thing that makes you rich makes me poor"

and he was followed by Allan with "May you never...."

then Bob Leslie gave us his composition "Adios to Rock and Roll"

and he then accompanied Elspeth Durkin with the classic "Autumn Leaves".

Sandy got back up at this point and sang another ballad "Breakin' down".

Then Fraser Lindsay got up and gave us a beautiful piece "Play from the heart"

Andy the Candy then got back up and gave us one of his 'signature tunes' "Dirty old man"!
Stuart Workman, Fraser and John then got up to give us the Leonad Cohen classic 'Manhatten'
They were followed by Jerry McCue, with John , who gave us a beautiful rendition of "Russian Lullaby".

Bob Leslie then got back up to accompany Stevie for the blues song "Headlights at my window".


Stevie's daughter, Laura Osbourne then performed her debut at the Clutha Vaults with her own song 'When we were friends'. It was excellent, and we think this is another new talent on the music scene, which we have discovered, and she should be rising soon!.

Joe Kidd then performed his song "Good Day" or as most of his friends now call it - the ebay song!
Stevie McGuire then performed his version of the classic "Thunder Road" which was very well received by everyone.





Joe MacAtamy then gave us his performance of "Haul Away" and "Ride On",
before handing over to Bob,Jimmy,John and Fraser giving us "Who do you Love?"

Stevie and Bob changed places and the combo then gave us a medley of Bob Marley songs.




Andy McGarvie and Bob then did the Bob Dylan classic "All along the watchtower"


Allan and Fraser then gave us "Magic Bus"



followed by Laura who gave us "Missing You"


Finally Elspeth and Bob finished the evening with the Neil Young classic "After the Goldrush", despite Elspeth being made to laugh by some friends rather erratic "dancing" in front of her!!

As usual the offical evening ended in an acoustic jam session for a couple of songs before time was up and we were all poitely asked to leave!!

As an aside, one of the audience members this evening was regular attendee, Ron Simpson, who has just won The BRITISH POWER-LIFTING CHAMPIONSHIP !! for his class.
