25th April, Clutha Vaults Open Mic Night

Sandy started the ball rolling as usual, singing Sweet Carolina and ‘I’m looking through you’ by the Beatles from the Rubber Soul album.

Andy ‘the Candy’ Logan was first up for the evening and he gave us his usual rendition of St. James’ Infirmary.
He was followed by Jer McDade with ‘Until we die’ and then Stuart with ‘I’m going down’.

Big Bob Leslie was next with his song ‘The Cultural Imperialists’ followed by Elspeth Durkin singing the Neil Young song ‘After the Goldrush’.

Sandy then gave us another Ballad ‘Snowing on the Ratone’ { a range of hills in Arizona apparently].
Jer McDade was then back with his popular song ‘Further down the down’.
Steve, Jimmy and John then got up and gave us a couple of songs ‘Cloud Nine’ and ‘What’s goin on?’
Bob then got up with Jimmy and John and they performed ‘Who do you love?’
Andy the candy Logan was then back to give us ‘The games people play’ followed by Stevie who gave us a lovely blues composition of his own called ‘Doin Fine’.
Gavin Watt then got up and did two songs ‘Don’t call the Doctor’ and Have you ever seen the rain?’

He was followed by Arthur singing ‘The green fields of France’.
An infrequent but popular visitor to the Open Mic nights, Stuart Nugent then got up and performed the Kinks song ‘Harry Rag’.
He was followed by Andy , with Jimmy, doing an Oasis song.
The ever popular and dignified ‘grandfather of the evening ,
Joe MacAtamy, then performed ‘Gallipoli’ and Ride On‘, being followed closely by Sandy singing ‘Lewis Street’.
Stevie, John, Bob and Arthur then performed the blues ‘Headlights at my window’ followed by Jer McDade giving us ‘Bob Treetop’
Rab Sherin then gave us his version of ‘Queen of the underground’
and was followed by Dan Cullen giving us ‘Another Saturday Night’.
