27th June 2007 Clutha Vaults

It was a busy bar this evening by the time we arrived,
lots of people eager to hear some good live music, and
perhaps join in the fun too.

Sandy started the evening as usual

followed by Gerry McHugh.

Davie Ritchie from the Cobramatics was up next singing a Ray Davies song 'This Strange Effect'

and he was followed by his friend Jamie Cox singing 'Sweet Marie'

Bob Leslie was next singing about his early life 'on the road' in a song entitled 'Me and Kenny'

Then Elspeth Durkin was up with Bob to sing his favourite 'Autumn Leaves'.

Fallen Angel??

Sandy then got back up and gave us a wonderful
version of the song made famous by Tim Buckley
in the seventies - 'Dolphins'.

Jamie Cox then got back up and sang 'Glitterball'

followed by Davie Ritchie with a Sun House blues song
'The chimming of your face'. [I think]

Brian McLachlan from the Vagabonds got up next and sang 'Change your mind'

followed by Joe Kidd, and Bob Leslie, with 'If you were (my girl)'

Gerry McHugh was next with a beautiful song 'Ghost in you'

and then Steve was up with Bob, with 'Headlights at my window'

Stevie McGuire then gave us 'That one more time' followed by

Ger McDade with his tale of 'Bob Treetop' to which
many sang the chorus, followed by 'The New James Bond'

Gavin Watt then gave us two songs 'Long may you run'
and 'As long as I can see the light'.

Steve McCaffrey then did two songs 'Too much of a Mix-up' and then 'Behind Blue Eyes'.

Kevin Young was back in this week and gave us a couple
of songs next - 'Between you and me' and
then 'Arrangements now'.

Brian McGarvie then gave us a Beatles song 'When I saw her standing there'

Joe MacAtamy was next with two songs - Ride On
and then 'The Sally Gardens' both done in his unique singing style.

Joe Kidd with Johnny T then performed 'Good Day'

followed by Johnny T, Bob Leslie and Elspeth Durkin performing the Little Feat song 'Dixie Chicken' - with Sandy joining in on some of the harmonies!

Brian McLachlan was then back up singing 'Won't look back'

followed by Stevie with 'Good to be alive'
accompanied by Bob Leslie

Stevie McGuire then gave us his beautiful
ballad 'When we were faultless'

and then finally Ian Adie got on stage
to sing 'Stand by me',

after which he was joined by Johnny T and Martin
to sing his former hit song 'Bonnie Scotland',

afterwards he invited everyone present to attend
the formal re-opening of the 'Clutha Vaults' and
'Scotch Corner' [the new name for the Victoria Bar]
on Monday the 2nd July!
