Sandy’s Open Mic 6th February 2008

SANDY open the evening as usual, this evening singing a Gillian Walsh song ‘By the marks’ (I think that is the title - my notes are a bit smudged!), and another ‘I’m looking through you’. BOB LESLIE was first up with ‘This thing called love’ followed by ‘Mara’ another of his own composition.
Next up was JASON singing his own song ‘Masquerade’ which was Oasis like in style and delivery. He followed that with an Eagles song ‘Take it easy’.
KIRSTY was next on stage singing a couple of ballads ‘Dirty Pennies’ and then ‘Band of Gold’. Old Andy made some comments about her footwear ---
She gave him a row for being ‘sexist’ and asked him if HE had ever tried wearing HIGH HEELS when walking over grass!!
ANDY LOGAN then got on stage and sang ‘Time slips away’ and then ‘Crossroads’.
STEVIE MaGUIRE was next up singing his own beautiful ballads ‘ What love is’ and ‘All the overtime’.
SANDY got back up then and sang ‘South Nashville Blues’.
JER McDADE was the next performer singing ‘Life got serious’ and then ‘Sixties never existed’ .
Sandy then got ELSPETH DURKIN up to sing ‘Jolene’ and then , as it is Valentine’s day next week, she sang ‘Will you still love me tomorrow’ - at which line Andy Logan was seen to nod vigorously!!!
BOB LESLIE was back up then and sang ‘It wasn’t down in Texas’ followed by ‘The tune that was broken won’t mend’.
KIRSTY then sang ‘Bar-room girls’ and an Erik Peterson song ‘Olde tyme memories’.
JER McDADE was back next with ‘The Eighties’ and then ‘Further on down the road’ followed by ANDY LOGAN with ‘The St. James’ Infirmary Blues’.

Last performer on stage was

DUNCAN ADAMS [late entry as usual] with ‘Where am I gonna live…’ and then ‘Alright’ a Travelling Wilbury’s song. After the formal gigs, there followed an informal jam session , with everyone singing along to songs like 'Sunny Afternoon' and 'The Mighty Quinn'.
