Sandy’s Open Mic - Clutha Vaults - 21st November 2007

Sandy started off the evening, [once the football had finished] with ‘Its all in my mind’.
First up on Stage was Aaron Hewit who gave us a couple of songs ‘The Devil’s Account’ and then ‘The lake of Pontchartrain’

Next up was Bob Leslie with a new song [ink still wet] ‘Just fillin a need’ and then his other new song ‘It’ll last another day’

Sandy then performed a Townes Van Zandt song ‘Mr Mud and Mr Gold’.

Stewart Workman was through from Edinburgh, and he gave us the song ‘Cocaine’ and then the Neil Young song ‘Harvest Moon’

Following the Neil Young theme, Elspeth Durkin was up next singing ‘After the Goldrush’ followed by ‘Autumn Leaves’
Aaron was then back up with the Little Feat song ‘Willin’
[with his own paparazzi in tow!]
Jenny then got up with Stewart, and despite having a sore throat, gave a good performance of ‘The Erie Canal’ and then Moon River’
Jer McDade had then arrived and he gave us ‘Mr Thrawn’ and then ‘Sing Song’.

Bob Leslie then got Elspeth up to harmonise on another Little Feat song ‘Dixie Chicken’ and then ‘Another Piece of my heart’. Sandy then got back up and sang ‘Colorado Girl’ before getting Andy the Dandy Logan up and he gave us ‘St James Infirmary Blues’ , ‘Games people play’ and also ‘Good-hearted Woman’.

Alec then got up with Andy and gave us ‘Frankie & Johnny/ King of the Road’ on the clarinet.

Sandy then asked John MgGonigal to give us a poem ‘Tae the wee white middle class social worker’.

Joe MacAtamany then sang ‘Jock Stewart’ and ‘Broom of the CowdenKnowes’.

Sandy was then persuaded to finish off the evening and he got everyone singing along to ‘Flower of Scotland’.
